The A Bar Ranch horse division is more than part of the ranch- it is the foundation of our work. For more than 35 years, A Bar Ranch has bred horses targeting traits for athleticism, cow-sense, and ability. These horses are put to the test daily through ranch work. In 2020, A Bar Ranch was honored with AQHA’s Best of the Remuda Award, recognizing one of the top ranch horse programs across the country.’
AQHA Best of the Remuda
The AQHA Best of the Remuda Award is a national honor recognizing ranches that demonstrate excellence in breeding, managing, and using working ranch horses. This award reflects a commitment to producing horses that perform day after day in real ranching conditions and contribute to the heritage of the American Quarter Horse.

Generations of strong maternal genetics are the foundation of any breeding operation. We believe our maternal strength is what sets us apart. Our lineages come from decades of selection for the various traits we deem necessary for any broodmare or good mount; Conformation, ability, trainability, & cow-sense. All essential to our program.
Stallions
Our Stallions are standouts in their own right. Many of which come from legendary maternal dams and by hall of fame sires. Their job at the A Bar is to continually compliment and elevate each broodmare. We are proud of our stallions and how they are advancing the ability & genetics of every future generation.
